When boring is done to draw water from the bowels of the earth, the pipe has to be kept free of air so that the water will rise up. If the air enters, the water cannot rise up in the pipe. So too, be sure that attachment to worldly things does not mar your spiritual effort. Love will not rise up if sensual pleasure or personal pride invade the mind.
Ketika engkau melakukan pengeboran untuk tujuan mencari air tanah, maka engkau perlu memastikan bahwa tidak ada udara yang terperangkap di dalam pipa agar supaya air bisa terhisap ke atas. Demikian pula, engkau perlu memastikan bahwa kemelekatan terhadap hal-hal duniawi tidak menjadi penghalang bagi upaya spiritualmu. Cinta-kasih tidak akan termanifestasikan jikalau kenikmatan sensual maupun kesombongan pribadi masih merajalela di dalam mind (batin)mu.
