Do not demean your talents; when you dive deep into yourselves, you can discover the source of all strength. Millions of ants creeping over a rock can carve a deep groove along their path. The minute feet of the ant have that power. You might have seen how on the walls around the village wells, hollows are produced on granite slabs by the continuous placing of water pots! The pots are made of mud, but over the years they erase even the hardest granite and cause the hollows where they rest! The embodiment of the Self (Atma-swarupam) within you is not an insignificant embodiment (alpa-swarupam)! The Atma is not anaemic! It is a powerful dynamo, capable of generating enormous power. Your spiritual teacher (Guru) shows you the goal (guri); but you must generate the power yourself, by your own spiritual effort.
Jangan menyepelekan talentamu; ketika engkau menyelam mendalam ke dalam dirimu sendiri, engkau dapat menemukan sumber dari semua kekuatan. Jutaan semut merayap di atas bebatuan dan dapat mengukir alur yang dalam sepanjang perjalanan mereka. Kaki-kaki semut memiliki kekuatan itu. Engkau mungkin telah melihat bagaimana tembok di sekitar sumur-sumur desa, lubang-lubang dihasilkan di atas lempengan batuan granit dengan menempatkan tempat air terus menerus! Tempat air itu terbuat dari lumpur, namun setelah bertahun-tahun tempat air itu dapat melubangi bahkan batuan granit yang paling keras sekalipun! Perwujudan diri sejati (Atma-swarupam) di dalam dirimu bukanlah perwujudan yang tidak berarti (alpa-swarupam)! Atma bukanlah tanpa kekuatan! Atma adalah penggerak yang sangat kuat, mampu menghasilkan kekuatan yang sangat besar. Guru spiritualmu memperlihatkanmu tujuan (guri); namun engkau harus menghasilkan kekuatan di dalam dirimu sendiri, dengan usaha spiritualmu sendiri. (Divine Discourse, Nov 23, 1964)
